Will Arch Manning Transfer out of Texas football?

In a fantasy football world, we would see Quinn Ewers, who’s normally the main player, playing exceptionally well on the field. Maalik Murphy, the backup player, would also get a chance to be the main player, and Arch Manning would have his first real college football game.

But let’s get back to reality. Quinn Ewers got injured and can’t play, so Maalik Murphy is now leading the team. Arch Manning hasn’t played a game yet, even though it’s been 10 weeks into the season.

So, what does all this mean for Texas football?

Well, at the beginning of the season, people were worried about the quarterback situation, and now those worries seem more likely to come true.

Ewers might come back to play for Texas next year, which could mean that Murphy or Manning might have to find another team to play for.

Will Texas keep all these talented quarterbacks for the 2024 season? Probably not. In college football, when a team has too many good quarterbacks, one of them often looks for other opportunities on a different team.

Considering how talented Texas is, it’s very unlikely that all three quarterbacks will stay on the team for the next season.

For example, let’s look at the current season with Murphy leading the team. If he finishes the season strong and takes Texas to the conference championships or even a shot at the Playoff, it’s very unlikely that the head coach, Steve Sarkisian, would replace him as the starting quarterback next year.

So, what will happen to Ewers in this situation? Will he be okay being a backup to Murphy, or will he try to find a new team before any potential quarterback competition?

As for Manning, he’s been getting better and might challenge for the starting position next season. But in college football, where all these talented quarterbacks are trying to make it to the NFL and time is running out, it’s becoming more likely that one of them will look for other opportunities.

  1. Is Malik Murfey afraid to run the football? He is showing no guts to advance the ball. Texas needs a mobile quarterback to help extend drives. Get some guts or stay on the side lines.

  2. Lets get this clear Manning redshirted for a reason so he can learn to transition to the college level of playing Qb so that usually takes time with the system that Sark plays. Texas has one of the best Qb coaches in the nation when it comes to playing the position which is a reason why Manning committed and won’t transfer out.
Now as for Maalik Murphy looks to be the odd one out due to the competition that will eventually happen come next spring and summer workouts. Which I believe Arch will win the starting qb position and Malik will likely enter the transfer portal.
Now as for Quinn I see him coming back on the road against Iowa State winning there and so on. He will enter the NFL draft come April so all this controversy about the qb situation is just all the writers and media dreams to stir up the pot.

  3. During the recruitment of Arch Manning, the family let it be known that they were OK with a redshirt year. Translation: the family thought Arch needed it and they wanted it with Sark’s tutelage. Because Ewers did his redshirt at The Ohio State, he will be eligible to enter the draft at the end of this season, and I don’t see him failing to go for those NFL millions. If Murphy gets it together by the end of this season, look for next year’s longhorn QB room to be Malik, Arch, and a four or five star recruit.

  4. He should stay put and learn this year…compete for stsrting job next year…either Ewers or Murphy or both will be gone anyway…
