The Most Effective Weight-Loss Yoga Poses

When you try to do a headstand for the first time, you don't know how much of your core you need.

1. Headstand Prep

The "Is" pose is a great way to improve your balance and strengthen your core. 

This is a nice change to the downward dog that takes more strength and focus. 

2. Three Legged Dog

I really like how this pose opens your hips and gives your body energy.

Locust pose is one of those poses that doesn't look too hard at first, but as soon as you get into it, you can feel how hard it is.

3. Locust Pose

This pose is a great way to tone and stretch your thighs, and it also helps you get ready for backbends.

Warrior II is a great pose for building power that is often used in flow routines. 

4. Warrior II

Your heart rate will go up, your hips will open, and your thighs will get a great workout.

This is the exercise for you if you like to feel your legs burning.

5. Chair

When you first try this pose and put a lot of effort into it, your legs will feel like they want to shake. 

At first, this pose was hard for me to get into because I have very stiff shoulders.
